Through art therapy, I help others find the connections between their thoughts, feelings and actions. I believe in the healing quality of the arts and use art making to help others express themselves, to gain personal insight and to make meaningful life changes. As a mother of a preschooler and an in-home childcare provider, I specialize in providing developmentally stimulating and therapeutic art experiences for young children and teenagers. I am also a trained positive discipline parent educator and enjoy working with pregnant women, mothers, couples and families. I am a registered art therapist with experience in a diverse array of job settings, and have practiced art therapy with various ages and populations. I received an undergraduate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington and a M.A. in Art Therapy from Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon. I have provided art therapy and mental health services to adolescent females with developmental, emotional and behavioral challenges at Damar Services, Inc. I also have experience working with adults in a state hospital setting, homeless youth, the elderly and HIV/AIDS patients.
