My goal is to create a supportive environment in which my clients can explore their emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. I take an open-minded approach to client wellness and consider the client's work life, family traditions, cultural and spiritual beliefs, and sexual identity. I offer counseling for individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in attention deficit disorder across the life span, couple and family conflict, parenting and blended families, depression, anxiety and stress, communication issues, trust issues, sexual concerns, loneliness, emotional intimacy, trauma and self-esteem issues. INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: attention deficit disorder; relationship issues; self-development; anxiety; depression; stress management; school/work related issues; grief; fears; phobias; anger management; emotional regulation; impulsivity. FAMILY COUNSELING: parent-child conflicts; family communication problems; defiant, angry, or isolated teens; grief/loss; transitions; divorce; separation. COUPLES COUNSELING: communication; financial disagreements; infidelity; trust issue; premarital/pre-commitment counseling. In addition to cognitive behavioral therapy, Cherie is certified in clinical hypnosis and also has training and experience as an EMDR therapist. In addition, she specializes in dealing with issues related to Attention Deficit Disorder across the lifespan. She has worked with families, doctors, counselors and schools on behavioral, academic, vocational and relationship issues.
