I work exclusively with children aging from 18 months to 18 years. I have been treating children in private practice for over 13 years. I treat ADHD, ADD, Anxiety, Asperger's Syndrome, Depression, Grief/Loss due to death, separation/divorce or deployment, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Tourette's Syndrome, and verbal, physical, sexual abuse, and neglect. I have extensive training and experience in treating children of separating & divorcing parents. I work with divorcing parents and their children in the Collaborative Divorce process. I provide them with insight and the tools to make the process succeed. Specializing in treating children requires very special training, unique treatment approaches, and years of experience, which I have. The treatment approaches that I utilize are: Art and Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Behavioral Training, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Social Skills Training, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Parent Training in Behavior Modification. Each child is unique in what they bring to therapy. So depending upon what they present, I may use non-directive or directive play therapy or art therapy. Children are free to explore who and what they are. This permissive environment and presention fosters trust leading to disclosure.
