I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing int he Essex Junction area. My approach is a blend of strengths-based, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. These models are optimal for resistant or apathetic children and teens. The bulk of my experience is with children and adolescents suffering from the effects of trauma, disrupted attachments, and parent custody matters. I work well with teens that are experiencing identity challenges or peer conflicts, including depression and self-harming behavior. Younger children benefit from a fun environment in which we explore emotional or behavioral challenges through guided play. I specialize in working with children and adolescents that have experienced traumatic events including complex trauma. This may include a particular event, or series of life disruptions that have led to impediments in everyday life. I have deep experience with homeless youth, foster care and adoptions.
