The LifeSTAR program is a three phase program designed to help addicts and partners to find hope, healing, and lasting recovery from compulsive/addictive sexual behaviors. Through individual and group therapy, clients will learn how to reclaim their lives, reestablish trust, and restore hope. Long-lasting recovery is more than temporarily stopping the behavior. Effective therapy addresses the underlying issues in creating a permanent, long lasting change. Our approach is unique because we treat the whole system, not just the individual struggling with the behavior. The most important feature of the LifeStar program is the focus on both the individual with the addiction and their betrayed partner. We believe long-term healing happens when men work on overcoming pornography/sexual addiction, women get support for partner relational trauma, and couples learn how to rebuild intimacy and trust. We work to help the addict end the addictive behaviors and build a completely new and healthy life. We help betrayed partners connect with women in similar situations and guide them through a healing process of understanding the impact of relational trauma so they can reclaim their lives. We help couples learn how to build an intimate, trustworthy, and secure relationship. Sex addiction impacts a variety of people in many settings. While couples are encouraged to attend the program together, single adults and those whose partners are unwilling or unable to attend are welcome. In addition to our programs for male addicts and partners of male sex addicts, LifeSTAR Las Vegas also has groups and resources available for female addicts as well as for youth and their parents. LifeSTAR is a nationally recognized treatment program for sexual addiction recovery. Research shows that success at recovery is most likely to occur and be maintained when an individual uses a combination of approaches- psychoeducational material, group work, individual/couples therapy and 12-Steps (Carnes). LifeSTAR offers this comprehensive treatment program in an out-patient model. Our next Phase 1: Getting Started Workshop and youth group begins April 16, 2015.
