Dedicated to Long Term Sobriety Tucson Transitional Living offers a three phase program dedicated to the recovery of young adults ages 18 to 25. Located in Tucson near the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, Tucson Transitional Living retains a safe, home environment. At Tucson Transitional Living, we pride ourselves in the human interactions, and relationships we have with our families, alumni and residents. About Us Tucson Transitional Living program incorporates a solid holistic foundation in abstinence, life skills, school and work, wellness, and personal relationships. Our highly involved staff walk our residents through their development with a personalized approach. Alumni return regularly, feeling a sense of belonging that can only be found through the common bond of sustained recovery. Tucson Transitional Living believes that a sober life is the key. The young addicts in our care are given the opportunity to recreate themselves by applying the fundamentals of the twelve-step program while working with a supportive staff that understands addiction. Each resident is individually coached on taking responsibility for their recovery and applying the twelve-step principles. Our curriculum is specifically designed to assure sustained sobriety, accountability, and a strong work ethic. The transition from debilitating drug/alcohol dependency and co-occurring disorders associated with addiction to an exceptional world full of possibility is attainable for every young adult who completes this program. Program Description Phase 1 (Transitional Living) a six-month program, residents are deeply entrenched in 12-step recovery. Our residents successfully complete all 12 steps within their first 90 days, with a qualified outside sponsor selected by staff. This allows them to speak, learn, and incorporate the language and principles of recovery. Individual and group therapy is provided, as well as life skills, community service, work-ethic and time management skills. Phase 2 (Sober University) a three-six month program continues all activities in phase one, along with an extensive educational and career component. Residents are coached in submitting educational forms, writing resumes and career seeking skills. Students take a minimum of 12 college credits. Classes are closely monitored to ensure the student's success. Students apply for and acquire employment. Phase 3 (Independent living) is voluntary and requires a three-month minimum commitment. We provide safe, sober, affordable housing for those students who wish to remain in Tucson, to further pursue their education and/or career goals. The students have the opportunity to stay for up to one year, while remaining part of our sober community and "giving back" to those just beginning their journey.
