Reaching out for support takes strength and courage. I respect this, and my aim is to create a calm, inviting atmosphere where trust and comfort can grow. Fostering a sense of safety is essential to my way of practice, as I believe it to be the most crucial element of health and healing. I also believe in the power of mindfulness and intentionality as we explore ourselves and lay groundwork for the future, and I emphasize this approach in my therapy style. I work from an integrative approach that embodies elements of feminist therapies, psychodynamic theories and existential/yoga philosophies. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems and grief and loss. Issues of social justice and non-majority sexual/gender orientations are also areas of interest that inform my practice. I have a strong background in music and performance, and I believe the arts can provide powerful tools to assist with healing and growth. I am experienced with several creative means of expression such as songwriting, drawing, and poetry, and I welcome the incorporation of the arts into the therapy setting.
