I see a variety of clients that want to improve one or more areas of their life. This includes: depression; improving and/or strengthening relationships; substance abuse/addiction; anxiety; stress; dysfunctional patterns; healthier decision making; coping with trauma; and struggles within developmental stages of life. I realize that seeking therapy/counseling can be quite stressful for some people. With this in mind, I work toward creating a comfortable atmosphere that includes lack of judgement and acceptance for wherever people are in their life journey. I have expertise in addiction, adolescents, children, family, codependency, trauma therapy and ADHD. I have worked as a clinical social worker in schools for 13 years and substance abuse facilities prior. I have experience in group/individual settings and I am well-versed in the 12-step program philosophy, recovery steps, systems theory and grief. I am a Christian and active church member. I am an adjunct professor at a local university. Currently, I am in a training program for certfication in TF-CBT through the National Trauma Network. I personally believe in treating clients with a holistic approach that includes balancing physical and mental health as well as mindfulness.
