As a former high school math teacher, I have always loved working with adolescents. I appreciate their energy, their ideas and the struggles they go through to find an identity and define themselves. I also do parent guidance with parents of adolescents. In addition, I especially enjoy working with couples, whether working to enhance their relationship, struggling to keep their relationship intact or deciding to end the relationship. When couples do decide to divorce, I work with them to end it respectfully and with good communication, especially when children are involved. I also specialize in working with high-functioning adults with Asperger's. In addition, I have a speciality in working with gays, lesbians and transgendered individuals. I am a trained Psycholoanalyst (PINE Psychoanalytic Center). Previous to that, I trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. During the course of my psychoanalytic training, I more clearly delineated when one or the other is the most appropriate approach for any one individual/couple. Often I find it beneficial to integrate them.
