I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with expertise in adult and couples psychotherapy. Troubling moods, behaviors and relationships are often associated with painful feelings and self criticism. I aim to work with you to identify inner, often perplexing barriers to having the freedom to love, work and play in the ways you desire. Inner conflicts and feeling undeserving of good feelings and experiences are often outside of conscious awareness. I work in a relational manner to help you notice self defeating tendencies so you can feel free to act in line with your best interests, values and relational needs. I specialize in working with deeply ingrained patterns that continue despite your best efforts. If you are frustrated with the amount of change you have experienced in other treatments, psychoanalysis, which involves more frequent sessions, may be for you. A belief in human resilience and capacity to evolve as well as my training as a psychologist and psychoanalyst informs how I approach psychotherapy. I work in a collaborative manner to lessen the barriers that deprive you of feeling capable and creating a fulfilling life.
