People come to counseling because they want something to be different in their lives. Experience has taught me that I must create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. And I must be skillful and respectful, in order for positive and lasting change to occur. In over thirty years of practice I have seen amazing growth and transformation in the clients with whom I have worked. I have particular interest and expertise in working with men in transition and men and women who have experienced trauma or are recovering from substance abuse. Since 1991 I have used EMDR to help clients effectively resolve issues of trauma. Since 2009 I have served as community supervisor and teacher for third year residents in the UF Department of Psychiatry.Previously I taught at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Miami and Nova University and served on the board and faculty of The Gestalt Institute of Miami. I am not on any insurance panels, although some insurers will reimburse a portion of my fee.
