I have been a licensed psychologist in Boise since 1987 after being an Associate Professor at the University of Montana from 1981-1987. I work with children, teens, individuals, families and couples who bring concerns ranging from past abuse, marital difficulties, depression, anxiety and other mood disorders, parenting problems, divorce, loss/grief, family distress, gender/sexuality issues and personal conflicts. My goal is to help relieve not only the symptoms that clients bring to therapy but also to address the origins of their distress and to help them move from pain and confusion to a more integrated sense of self. My therapeutic approach is eclectic (e.g., cognitive behavioral, guided imagery, emotionally -focused therapy) with an emphasis in helping people respond to their inner emotional needs to improve their lives and 2) to form stronger bonds with their intimate partners, family and friends. I work to create a safe, respectful alliance with my clients. I offer a free initial phone consultation before scheduling. My office is located in a comfortable, historic building near the downtown area with accessible on-street parking.
