Through a supportive and nurturing relationship, we will work together to strengthen your emotional resources and change unhealthy patterns. Such work often involves a thoughtful understanding of the ways in which important relationships, significant life experiences, and society/culture contribute to current obstacles. Gradually, you will deepen your insight about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; develop healthy ways to cope with stress; and improve your quality of life. I offer services for children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. When working with children/adolescents, I collaborate with parent(s) as is appropriate while your child/adolescent works through his/her stress. I view therapy as a collaborative process where trust and safety are valued and respected. This foundation allows us to explore your life story, connect the past with the present, and create a greater self-awareness. My specialties include relationship issues, recovery from trauma, sexuality, coping with developmental or life transitions, working through divorce, and recovery from addiction. I also specialize in working with parent and infant/child relationships, pregnancy, postpartum depression/anxiety, and parenting in recovery from substances.
