I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a special focus on work with families and children. My goal is to help you create a family where both parents and children can grow to meet their full potential, becoming the persons they were meant to be. I do this through individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, as well as family therapy and parenting education and coaching. I use a whole family approach when possible, with a warm, non-threatening style. In addition, I am a Mecklenburg County Parenting Coordinator for court ordered families in high conflict divorce. I have been practicing since 1986 with experience in family service agencies, mental health centers, and elementary schools. I also served as Clinical Instructor in the UNC School of Social Work. I bring to my work my passion for parenting and personal experience as a wife and mother to two young adult children. I specialize in parenting, families in transition, including divorce and step families, children experiencing anxiety, behavior problems, learning challenges including ADHD, as well as adolescents and adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression and interpersonal relationships. My clients feel supported while they work to make their lives more satisfying.
