Sometimes life gets overwhelming. Are you struggling with sadness, anxiety or depression? Is communication a problem in your relationship? Perhaps the wounds and hurt experienced as a child have held you back. I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years to adolescents and adults. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work at Barry University in Miami, Florida. I have worked in substance abuse treatment centers with dual-diagnosis clients, public school systems providing counseling to adolescents and taught parenting skills to parents, and have intensive training working with gender specific issues. I specialize in treating clients with anxiety, depression, addiction-substance abuse and difficulty adjusting to life's changes including grief and loss. My therapy approach is supportive with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques such as relaxation training, mindfulness,changing negative thinking patterns and learning to set healthy limits in relationships. My therapeutic style is warm and supportive, with focus on helping clients achieve the changes they wish to make in their lives and the patterns that no longer work for them. Much of my practice is devoted to issues relating to women and adolescents.
