I work from a strengths perspective, helping clients reclaim their own inner resources to regain mental health. I see individuals and couples for a broad range of presenting issues, such as depression and anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems, addictions, and coping with inevitable and unexpected life stressors. Helping clients cope with trauma histories, maladaptive behaviors, and ongoing turmoil, I draw on CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness, to name a few. I enjoy working in depth with clients who are willing to explore the often difficult terrain of their emotions, and to help them find effective ways to achieve their therapeutic goals. A firm believer in the connection of mind/body/spirit, I integrate physical and spiritual components into clinical work where appropriate, and encourage clients to explore and engage in healthy mind/body practices between sessions.
