As a psychotherapist for more than 15 years, I have seen how people get in their own way and prevent themselves from living the lives they want. I will work with you individually or as a couple to overcome obstacles and gain insight into the symptoms and problems you are having. I have experience with a range of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, and loss. I focus on symptom relief, building introspection and self-esteem. I use an interactive approach pointing out patterns of behavior, coping mechanisms and emotional reactions that are difficult to observe for oneself. One of my specialties is helping individuals through the process of infertility and pregnancy loss. I have experience working with individuals and couples who have faced unique challenges in this area and am aware of the emotional roller coaster that one is involuntarily placed on during this ordeal. My approach is flexible and straightforward. I would describe myself as integrative using techniques from interpersonal and cognitive/behavioral therapies. Although serious about my work, I also have a sense of humor. For people who travel frequently, I have extensive experience working on the phone and Skype.
