I work from the belief that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves. I merely see myself as a "guide" on that journey. I use a gentle eclectic approach to treating emotional trauma and helping people through grief and other life stresses. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to help clients move beyond hurts and reach their highest potential. I am certified in the area of treating trauma which helps me guide clients in clearing of emotional blockages caused by difficult life events. Treatment approaches used are: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight-oriented work, and Narrative Therapy. Treatment is tailored to client's issues and needs. Where appropriate, I encourage use of body-based treatments such as yoga, massage, regular exercise and energy medicine as an adjunct to psychotherapy. I am licensed in the State of Maine as a Clinical Social Worker and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional by the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
