I am a trained clinical psychologist who has been seeing patients for approximately 23 years. I am an efficient parent coach and have a specific interest in treating families/couples and adolescents. I am also busy with individual cases of depression, anxiety, and adjustment problems. I utilize a modified interpersonal/systemic style which allows me to meet my patient's unique needs. I am also experienced in cultural issues (acculturation, adjustment, racism & oppression) and encourage family members to assist as therapeutic consultants. I enjoy the use of humor and metaphor in my work and recognize the uniqueness of human struggles. Using a modified interpersonal/cognitive approach I am able to meet the needs of my diverse patient population by I focusing on how thoughts and actions work for and against us in our daily lives. This brief model allows the patient to grow and learn in their therapy. I often find it rare that therapist's recognize the culturally specific, individually unique and humanly universal aspects of their patients. My goal in therapy is to help my patients recognize and integrate all three of these dimensions in their daily lives and interpersonal interactions to optimize mental health.
