Although I am pretty traditional in my beliefs about the purpose of therapy,I am not your traditional therapist. I do not sit with a notebook and write down everything you say with a hmmmm at the end before I collect my fee. I am interactive and even directive sometimes. I guess that's why I work well with teenagers:) So, if you want therapy to be fun, I'm your gal. I have a general practice and enjoy seeing adults, but my specialty area has been adolescents for over 20 years. I have the same amount of experience with addictive disorders, codependence, divorce, parent alienation (I do evaluations and have done court work), anxiety....the list goes on. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a past President of the Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia. I have a blog titled justasksonia.com (free therapy questions). I consider myself a role model for teen girls...and make it a point to help each young woman that comes into my office to become a productive, fulfilled and well rounded individual. I also have done a lot of work in reference to parent alienation, including evaluation and court work. My practice is in an old home which has been transitioned into office spaces. It is comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood and I even have a couple of therapy cats.
