I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with nearly 20 years experience helping people recover from difficulties such as relationship issues, stress, parenting concerns, and depression. I use effective, non-judgemental therapeutic techniques to bring about positive change and develop practical tools for my clients to use to strengthen their coping skills and relationships. I work with individuals, couples, families, and teens, using a variety of well-proven counseling techniques to help clients resolve their issues and bring about positive changes in their lives. In post gradute workshops, I have studied several therapeutic techniques including solution-focused therapy, Gottman methodology, and cognitive/behavioral therapy, in order to become a more broad-based and efficient therapist. My treatment objective is for you to gain confidence in the skills we are developing so that you meet with success. Along with my private practice, I have been an adjunct professor at the URI since 1996 in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. I am accreditd by the AAMFT as a Clinical Supervisor. As a Clinical Supervisor, I provide supervision to clinical trainees seeking licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
