10 years experience working with and treating substance use and mental health disorders. Started professional experience as adolescent drug/alcohol use and mental health counselor for youth in a residential setting. After 4 years, moved to adult drug/alcohol use and mental health counselor and supervisor for adults in residential setting. Currently, providing program director and clinical counseling services in a community mental health setting for adults and their families. Have conducted a number of substance use and mental health groups in the last 10 years to include relapse prevention, trauma and recovery, family group, group process, anger management, psychoeducational, dialectical behavior therapy, skills building, communication skills and support groups and clinical supervision. Skills include screening and assessment, diagnosing, treatment development and planning, discharge planning, coordination of care, family therapy, marriage counseling, referrals, individual and group counseling.
