My approach is strengths-based, collaborative and integrative--with adolescents, adults, seniors, families, and couples. Many of my clients have been highly traumatized, sometimes w/complex PTSD &/or dissociative disorders. Other issues include depression, anxiety, adult ADHD, substance use and/or addictions; domestic conflict; need for parenting education and support; compromised physical health/chronic pain issues, onset of dementia, grief about aging & general grief/loss. Our goals include [trauma] recovery with expanded social, medical and mental health supports. I have done/will do "in vivo" therapy & advocacy at hospital ERs, Court hearings, medical (primary care & specialized) appointments, psychiatric evaluations & medication reviews, Social Security Disability hearings, etc. I've developed and over several years conducted a weekly "Trauma Recovery Group" with my clients. I've incorporated expressive arts into many aspects of clients' therapies, while increasing my own participation in expressive arts activities, especially multimedia collage, painting, and mosaic. All of us are artists at the "All You Can Art Buffet"©, a monthly expressive arts "workshop" for clients and creative colleagues.
