Life can be painful, relationships can be disappointing, and self-sabotage can be your barrier to achieving your full potential. Real change is possible, but not easy. It happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you have power to change instead of trying to exercise control over what you don't. I assist clients by helping them identify the specific maladaptive thoughts and behaviors ingrained in each of us from our pasts and which can sabotage our futures. Working together clients can gain self-awareness, identify core values and create goals changing their life direction. I have experience in individual and group therapy working with acute mental illness, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, diversity issues and adjustment disorders. Although I focus on client history in order to understand present functionality, my therapeutic sessions predominantly address "here and now" problems to maximize immediate effectiveness and benefit.
