Summit Achievement- Wilderness Therapy with School Summit Achievement is a licensed residential treatment center located in the White Mountains Region of Maine. We serve boys and girls, ages 13-18+ for an average stay of 6-10 weeks. Summit combines weekly individual and family therapy, accredited classroom academics and challenging wilderness expeditions. Summit is unique among "Wilderness Programs" in that we provide a complete residential campus where students reside 3 days out of the week. Expeditions take place 4 days a week and may include backpacking, mountaineering, canoeing, rock/ice climbing and snowshoeing. Through this model students learn to take responsibility for personal decisions, address individual and family issues, make academic progress, manage healthy transitions, build self-confidence, and become invested in their future. Summit Traverse- Transitional Therapeutic Boarding Summit Traverse is a short-term therapeutic boarding school for boys and girls ages 14-18+ and ranges from 3-6 months long. This is a step-down from intensive treatment programs offering a way to help students prepare for a successful transition into a more traditional setting. Traverse combines family-centered therapeutic services, an accredited blended learning academic program, and a rich residential life curriculum. Students participate in individual and family therapy as well as transition planning. School takes place 5 days a week and the weekends consist of enriching activities focusing on culture, adventure, service and education. Traverse students may have experienced anxiety, depression, social struggles, family dynamic issues, academic struggles, low self esteem and possibly co occurring substance abuse yet they are motivated to change and willing to enroll.
