Wendy has 20+ years experience in mental health. A graduate of Grinnell College and KU School of Social Welfare, Wendy has vast experience working in both rural and metropolitan communities. Having worked with individuals with chronic mental illness, eating disorders, addiction and trauma at Menninger, Wendy went on to broaden her skills to include extensive work in anxiety, depressive and behavioral disorders in Kansas City. There, she also provided treatment for people who had experienced workplace violence and airline accidents. She later went on to work at the Gadson Clinic in Quincy, Illinois. Before returning to Topeka in 2003, she spent 5 years as the pediatric behavioral health consultant and treatment clinician at Quincy Medical Group where she treated children and adolescents. Over the last 10 years, Wendy has been an outpatient therapist for Stormont-Vail Behavioral Health seeing all ages from 6+. In private practice since June 2014, Wendy sees a wide range of clients from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. While Bowen Family Systems and CBT are the backbone of her treatment methods, the Strengths Perspective and Solution-Focused theories are inherent in her thinking as well.
