Finding the right therapist for YOU and the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors associated with positive therapy results. I place primary importance on the therapy relationship and I join you on your journey of self discovery and healing, providing an atmosphere of safety, warmth and understanding, . While I have a wealth of professional and personal knowledge and expertise in individual and family recovery from substance misuse, addictions/compulsive behaviors and life patterns that prevent authentic living, I do not approach the relationship as an "expert" but rather as a supportive guide on the journey. Specialty areas: 1. Addiction Recovery: Intervention, individual/family recovery, Co-occuring disorders (depression, anxiety, personality disorder, trauma), Stage II (emotional) recovery. 2. Child/Adolescent: Birth to Young adult, prenatal, postpartum concerns, development, attachment, divorce, self esteem, anxiety, depression, separation/individuation/"launching," parenting issues, family therapy. 3. Personal growth: Mindfulness/meditation/stress reduction, resilience, brain plasticity. I have expertise in many approaches such as family systems, DBT, CBT, psychodynamic, and Schema. I draw from them based on needs. Most recently I have completed training in the innovative work of Brene' Brown and The Daring Way (TM).
