We all face adversities which can leave us feeling stuck or troubled. It is useful in these situations to seek the expertise of a trained listener who will help you to see things in a new way and discover insights that enable you to make meaningful and lasting changes. As a psychologist with expertise in psychotherapy, I will help you to address barriers that prevent you from being satisfied with various aspects of your life. You will acquire tools to build emotional resilience, learn to manage difficult feelings, experience more meaningful and deeper relationships with others, and find successful ways of managing stressful life circumstances. I have been in practice for over 15 years, working in settings that include private practice, psychiatric hospitals, the VA, primary care, medical hospitals, cancer care. I have taught and supervised psychology interns, medical students, and psychiatry residents. I work holistically and collaboratively, drawing upon psychodynamic and interpersonal approaches. I have expertise in working with individuals suffering from significant medical illness (cancer, HIV/AIDS), and chronic medical conditions. Social anxiety, relationship conflicts, work stress, chronic melancholy and isolation are a few examples of the challenges individuals confront for which my assistance is requested.
