"The first duty of love is to listen." This famous quote can apply to intimate, marriage and family relationships. In counseling clients, I focus greatly on helping people communicate effectively. Most conflict comes from not actively listening and misunderstanding loved ones. I have a unique approach to couples counseling which encourages male participation. I focus on bridging the gap between genders and reducing the stereotypical behaviors of men and woman. I also practice individual and family counseling for various emotional and mental health issues. I do in-home counseling sessions which is very effective for couples, and trauma work. I specialize in treating Anxiety,Trauma and PTSD through the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). It is highly effective in helping a person overcome a traumatic experience. It resolves the traumatic memories that affect the way a person thinks, feels and behaves instead of just treating the symptoms. I provide in home couple and family counseling sessions. I provide in home Trauma sessions, focusing on EMDR and Hypnosis. This allows the client to be in the comfort of his or her home while doing the difficult emotional work of recovering from trauma.
