Abbé Utter is passionate about joining others in their search for healing. Her work in ministry and in counseling has generated a desire to extend understanding, compassion, and grace to those who are hurting, misunderstood, or feel alone. Abbé uses an integrative approach to counseling by helping clients become authentic to self, and gain awareness around their thoughts and behaviors. Abbé serves individuals in any stage of life, but is especially focused on working with women and adolescent girls struggling with identity challenges. Her desire as a counselor is to meet clients where they are with empathy, and to help them achieve personal goals. Abbé Utter received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University. She has her temporary License to practice Professional Counseling. She is currently serving as a counselor at The Refuge Center for Counseling and practices counseling at her private practice in Brentwood. Abbé is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). She enjoys working with clients going through transitions at any stage of life.
