Ordinary people have personal and family issues to resolve. Counseling can help prevent normal life challenges from becoming more difficult, and can address serious problems or unexpected crises when they do occur. My counseling style, developed during 20 years of professional experience, combines multiple approaches and techniques to utilize "what works" with a particular problem. We will work together in an interactive process to explore your unique situation and choose what steps to take. I offer individual and family appointments, assisting clients to reach their personal potential and improve their intimate relationships. I would be happy to be your resource. I work with a variety of family issues, including marital conflict, families experiencing problems with children, and individuals whose lives have been affected by their original family upbringing. I also treat eating disorders, belong to the Eating Disorders Task Force of Cascade County, and facilitate an eating disorder support group. Other issues I commonly deal with are grief, depression, stress, life transitions, past traumas and nonchemical addictions. Beyond a Masters degree in Counseling, I have further training in marital therapy, eating disorder treatment and experiential methods (EMDR, sand trays, psychodrama, sensorimotor psychotherapy) which are an effective adjunct to talk therapy.
