Our self-perceptions and world perceptions shape our experiences; identifying, contextualizing and analyzing these perceptions leads to a more enjoyable life. This process of discovery looks different for everyone. The struggle to be honest with oneself and with others is universal. Being honest with yourself means knowing your thoughts and feelings deeply. Communication and openness are the ways to achieve this understanding. Counseling facilitates this process. At the heart of counseling is the dual task of accepting yourself as you are while working to improve what you can. I specialize in sexuality and gender, providing a non-judgmental space in which these issues are destigmatized and discussed frankly. I provide empathic client-centered counseling for individuals or couples. My approach to counseling is eclectic and draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and existential theory. I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling from Indiana University. I am working toward licensure and am supervised by Tim Donovan.
