I am interested in patients who want to find ways to be joyful and content, to cherish their children and spouses and appreciate the present. Many of us feel stretched thin, busy juggling work and children; we feel pressure to achieve more, own more, do more when in fact all that we need to be happy is within our grasp right now. I treat the anxiety and depression arising from these pressures. All of us will experience suffering but we can learn to become more alive to the present, more courageous and more joyful in our relationships with others. I have years of experience as a child psychologist and marriage and family therapist. I can help you and your children reduce stress by changing how you think to change how you feel and I provide specific tools to cope with anxiety and depression using mindfulness based cognitive therapy. My years of professional and life experience (wife, mother, grandmother) allow me to be nonjudgmental and accepting of many viewpoints and perspectives on relationships and choices people make. My patients tell me that because I am easy to talk to and comforting it enables them to take risks and change.
