My goal is to help young people achieve insight and self-awareness that will lead to positive decisions and healthy, balanced lives. This is accomplished through a trusting, therapeutic relationship that nurtures the child or young adult to develop their optimism and motivation. I also work with parents to develop the skills needed to raise well-adjusted and motivated children. My years of experience assisting individuals who are stressed, anxious, depressed or who have special needs, provides me with the skills to counsel individuals overwhelmed by the pressures of childhood, young adulthood or parenting. My current work is the private practice of psychology, but I have many years of experience in school psychology. This provides me a unique perspective on the issues children and young adults face. I understand the complexity of family issues, stressors within the educational setting, and stages of personal development. I am qualified to provide a wide range of services including: psychotherapy, IEP/ Section 504 advocacy, and independent psychological evaluations (IQ, Achievement, Behavioral Assessments, etc.) My expertise is in assisting individuals with mental health issues or disabilities such as ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, and mild Autism.
