I have 25 years of experience working with children, individuals and families struggling with complex life situations including divorce, blended families, foster care, adoption, transition to adulthood, identity issues and chronic and terminal illness. I believe that life transitions and times of crisis can be excellent opportunities for reflection and positive change. My ideal clients are all ages from youth ages 10 and older to senior citizens. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and families, I am trained to provide therapy for children and youth with trauma/attachment difficulties, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy/Attachment-Focused Family Therapy.My work includes working with members of the adoption triad, including support around birth family connections and the search and reunion process. I have a systems background and my therapeutic style is inclusive, including family members and parents in therapy when appropriate,and participating in treatment team meetings for complex situations. I provide support and coaching for parents of explosive, troubled youth so that the entire family can thrive.
