Most people feel uncomfortable seeking counseling. My clients tell me they feel at ease after their first session and look forward to their second visit. This is very helpful for anxiety and couples problems. Although I've seen many individuals, for many of the topics listed on this site, my love is couples counseling and I've always retained a strong focus on couples and families as a resource for individuals and a resource towards positive change and personal contentment for each member of a family. I have used my 30 years experience working with families to help individuals and couples better understand their difficulties and achieve a place of strength and contentment. Additionally I've worked with substance abuse and chronic mental illness and the families their loved ones who suffer. In my experience people want to do well in their relationships and often their attempts to change that create recurring problems. Typically I will enlist their strengths to more directly problem solvefocusing less on changing who they fundamentally are. I accept people who do not have insurance.
