I work by helping people understand themselves more fully so that long lasting gains may be reached in personal and professional settings. Modern psychoanalytic techniques are commonly put to use in my work and I believe that in working openly together we may achieve a great deal. In addition, holistic approaches are discussed and are sometimes recommended. Though my original training is in psychiatry, it is highly unlikely that I will initiate any new psychopharmacologic treatment as I believe that longterm psychopharmacologic exposure, though perceived by many as helpful especially in the short term, is ultimately detrimental to most people. My residency training was completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital; and I have completed training in psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society in Washington D.C. In the past, I have treated those suffering from a variety of discomforts in both individual and group settings.
