I have maintained a continuous private psychotherapy practice since 1979. In addition to my clinical practice I teach in the graduate program for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at the University of Southern Maine. My background is in psychodynamic therapy which acknowledges the importance that family of origin plays in our life as well as the role of the unconscious in determining our decisions. I accompany my clients on a journey of self-discovery and self-awareness which leads to symptom reduction and a more fulfilling life. My practice consists of individual, couples and family therapy. My scholarship includes the role of the nurse psychotherapist, both mens and women's issues and the critical role that communications plays in relationships.
