I work from a collaborative and respectful place to help clients explore what is and isn't working in their lives. My approach is pragmatic and client-directed. I do not subscribe to an "illness/disease" model of psychotherapy that I find to be stigmatizing and limiting. I utilize empirically supported treatments, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness-based behavior therapy shown to be effective in numerous clinical trials. Most importantly, I strive to always treat clients with dignity, respect, and compassion as I work to help them create for themselves the kind of meaningful life they desire. Being trained as a scientist-practitioner, my work is guided by scientific research that informs my interventions and treatment plans. At the heart of my practice is compassion for my clients and a deep interest each person's unique journey. I seek to help people have a life well-lived. I provide evidence-based psychotherapy for those who are suffering and who seek to make changes in their lives. My commitment is to helping clients live a life of meaningful and vitality, one of integrity and dignity. Rather than just feeling better, my focus is on helping clients live better.
