I have always had a passion for helping people, which lead me to my counseling profession. The population I have counseled has been broad: adults with severe mental illness, homeless families, adult women with trauma, couples going through marital discord, and children struggling with mental illness, trauma, and difficult adjustments. My recent focus has been working with children using play therapy, and helping parents improve their relationship with their child. Play therapy focuses on the need for children to express themselves through the use of play and toys. Through the play therapy process, children can change their personal view of events in the world and begin to better enjoy their interactions with others.
