As a licensed clinical psychologist, I work with adults (18+) seeking relief from symptoms of depression, anxiety, and interpersonal conflict. Treatment may focus on reducing symptoms, recognizing behavioral and relational tendencies, as well as exploring the impact of temperament, family, and culture on functioning. My clinical approach is relational and aims to enhance connection to oneself, while encouraging recognition of one's interpersonal stance and its impact on the other. Although therapeutic progress is individualized, many clients exhibit increased awareness, greater ability to experience and manage emotions, and improved coping as a result of therapy. Areas of specialization include mood and anxiety disorders, post-partum adjustment, and couples psychotherapy. I am interested in factors affecting identity and personality development, and can be helpful to individuals and families undergoing life transitions including: adjustment to college, career entry, relocation, marriage, pregnancy, parenting, divorce, and bereavement. I obtained my doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University, and completed internship and post-doctoral training at The Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School. With over 15 years of clinical experience, I offer culturally-informed, psychodynamic psychotherapy and consultation services in English and Spanish.
