I am a relationally oriented psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of problems relating to food, eating & the body. Of utmost importance to me is creating a space that is safe and comfortable for patients to share their lives with me in a real and meaningful way. My knowledge base, skill, and use of self will enlighten you to develop a deeper understanding of your relationship to food and how it functions in your life. You will learn how to break unhealthy patterns and move beyond constant thoughts of food and your body in order to live a more satisfying life. I have a special interest and training in women's issues relating to; strengthening one's identity, feeling entitled to have, learning about hunger, appetite, desire and limits, and understanding how the hunger for emotional nourishment can manifest itself in a myriad of ways. I not only work with people suffering with eating and body image difficulties, but with obsessions and symptoms of all kinds. Treatment focuses on establishing a healing relationship that facilitates insight and emphasizes the mutual construction of meaning in the patient's life.
