At times, we may be presented with barriers that hold us back from living life as authentic individuals. My approach to counseling helps you consider your thinking, how to align your life with your values, and build on the already present strengths in your life to help you leave behind unhelpful patterns of behavior. My training and experience provides me the opportunity to journey with you as you work with a variety of barriers that are part of the co-occurring disorders of mental health and addiction. I bring to counseling an unconditional positive regard and a passion for guiding you to authentic living. The guiding theories of my work include positive psychology and motivational interviewing approaches. I utilize Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and skill building tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and also utilize evidence based substance use disorder treatment approaches. Each of these approaches allows me to be helpful across a wide variety of issues.
