I'm excited about the possibility of working with you! Making the decision to pursue mental health treatment is a big step in the right direction. Still, choosing a provider can be a daunting task. My goal is to share some information that will help you with this decision. I believe my role in working with you is of a fellow traveler on the journey of life. While you are the expert of your own life, I am an expert in psychological principles that can help you overcome obstacles and live your life to the fullest. Although I am equipped to treat a variety of mental health concerns, I have extensive training in trauma (child abuse, sexual abuse, sexual assault, military combat), spirituality, and relationship issues. I have worked in residential treatment facilities for children and adults, VA Hospitals, Community Mental Health Centers, and private practice. In therapy, I use a variety of research-based treatments (including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, and Seeking Safety), depending upon the needs of my clients. I do not believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to healthcare, as all people are unique.
