I work with people seeking to address certain behavioral patterns or negative emotions. Perhaps fear, anxiety or depression is promoting a sense of internal imprisonment, or an undisclosed experience with abuse, trauma and addiction elicits feelings of isolation. As history tends to repeat itself, substance abuse and other addictions can occur, posing material challenges to the healing process. By attentively listening to my clients and attuning myself to their conditions, I help them identify and utilize their strengths to implement the changes they desire. I aspire for every client to leave treatment empowered, after having attained a higher level of self-awareness and independence. My practice is primarily devoted to conditions associated with substance abuse. I have extensive experience conducting interventions that not only involves consulting with family and friends, but also obtaining treatment for the addicted person. Additionally, I provide individual aftercare services, including counseling on relapse prevention techniques and treatment for other psychological issues. Understanding that every case is unique and requires an individualized protocol, I have pursued post-graduate training in EMDR, clinical hypnosis, PTSD diagnosis and treatment and intervention strategies. I incorporate relaxation and mindfulness techniques into therapy. My approach is a comprehensive one that focuses on healing the mind, body and spirit.
