My name is Lucy Mahan; born and raised in Alaska. I began my counseling career in an adolescent group home working with children ages 12-18. From there I transitioned into a residential center for men and women with substance abuse issues. I am a licensed professional counselor/supervisor with a level II Chemical Dependency certification and am trained in EMDR Therapy. I currently am on the Alaska Addiction Professional Association board and the Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification board. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling using many different types of therapy depending on the client and his or her needs. Some of the therapies I use are: EMDR, Narrative, Aroma, Relaxation, Art, and Cognitive. I specialize in trauma, dissociation and substance abuse. I have two office locations. My Anchorage office is located in the Northern Lights Professional Building in midtown Anchorage and the Homer office is in the Beluga Professional Building in downtown Homer.
