I work collaboratively with my clients to define and explore the things they want to change. Most of my clients come to therapy because something in their lives isn't working anymore. They want to let go of old habits and deepen their sense of well-being. I help my clients build skills that create the conditions for growth. These skills, practiced over time, allow my clients to connect more deeply with themselves and others, and move more purposefully into the lives they choose. My goal is to facilitate my clients' movement beyond symptom relief to real and lasting change. I have long been drawn to the overlap between psychology and spirituality, and the mind-body connection. I often include mindfulness practices from Eastern and Western traditions in my work. I also call on my training in psychosynthesis and cognitive behavioral, relational, and body-centered therapies. I have worked as a therapist with adults of all ages, as individuals and in groups, in agency, in-home, college, and private practice settings. In addition to my clinical work, I also regularly offer workshops on grief, loss, and trauma and facilitate self-care retreats.
