In addition to being a licensed psychologist and certified hypnotherapist, I also have ordination as both a rabbi and as a maggid (a traditional spiritual teacher and storyteller). I use a combination of therapeutic modalities to effect personal growth and change. While I'm skilled in treating most of life's challenges I have special interests in problems associated with attention deficits, anxiety and mood problems, couple issues, and habit problems that may be treated with hypnosis, such as smoking, weight and performance enhancement (e.g., sports, arts). My approach is generally brief and focused on solutions. I try to create a warm and supportive environment, often sprinkled with humor that rarely breaches the canons of good taste to allow a therapeutic relationship to develop rapidly. Although I primarily practice psychotherapy I also perform psychological assessments for bariatric surgery and other medical procedures on a limited basis.
