Working with people who are seeking positive changes in their lives is a privilege. I enjoy working with individuals from all backgrounds, and am sensitive to issues of gender, culture, and spiritual/religous beliefs. The atmosphere in my office is relaxed and warm and clients are treated with dignity and respect. My focus is strength-based. I look for client competencies and resources and try to avoid pathologizing people because of their problems, past or concerns. How often and how long the therapy will last depends on client goals and treatment needs, and will be mutually agreed upon. I stress collaboration, and strive to develop a treatment plan that honors client values. My approach is based on my training in family, cognitive behavioral and narrative/solution- focused therapy. These approaches are suitable for addressing anxiety, depression, life transition, cultural and relationship concerns. I am passionate about working with individuals from all backgrounds and am familiar with many different cultures.I have received therapy training in California, Switzerland and Georgia and I have traveled extensively and spent extended periods of time in Europe, Japan and parts of South America.
