I often work with people who are facing significant emotional distress - either due to unfortunate circumstances or as a result of troubling old patterns that keep resurfacing. I believe that past experiences often shape our understanding of current events, and find that exploration of one's personal history serves an important role in restoring a sense of well-being. Biological and genetic factors also play a role in emotional health. When prescribing, my goal is to understand your priorities and collaborate with you in an effort to find a medication that is beneficial and with minimal side effects. I'm also comfortable helping people discontinue medications when the time is right.
